9TH BN. APSP, VENKATAGIRI
PAST HISTORY :
The 9th Bn., APSP, was raised at Vallivedu (Village), Venkatagiri (Mandal) Nellore District on 21.12.1991 with 3 active companies and 1 HQrs Company and It is extended in 303.95 Acres of which 205.10 acres from Nellore District and 98.85 Acres from Chittoor district was alienated vide proceedings RC.No.B2/21300/1991 Dt.06.12.1991 (205.10) Acres and RC.No.B1/22956/91,Dt.11.05.1993 (98.85 Acres) of the District Collector and District Magistrate, Nellore and Chittoor respectively vide GO.MS.No.776 Home (Police-D) Dept. dtd.21.12.1991.Since the establishment of this discharges extremists /Elections/Cyclones/Major L&O duties in AP and neighbor states.
During the year 2009, three companies were raised.
This Battalion is under the command of Sri.L.S.Patrudu,
Commandant from 19.05.2016.
The Battalion Training Centre was also started in 9th Bn. APSP., during the year 2009. So far 04 Batches were undergone training in this Training Centre. At present 262 SCT PCs (AR) were undergoing basic training in 5th Batch.
At present as per the Orders of the kind Officers, 01 Company was performing prestigious S.D.R.F. duties in this Unit.
Earlier, Contingents from this Battalion participated in Republic Day / Independence Day Celebrations in the year-2016 and won best contingent.
The Battalion Police personnel are performing over all duties not only in the districts but also in the other states also for elections BB Duties, VIPs security , Ganesh Festival, Assembly, Black Day and other Bandobust duties at various places in and out side the state.
The Battalion personnel were awarded with various Police Seva Pathakams-01, Uttama Seva Pathakams- 15 and Indian Police Medal-01 in various fields for their good and hard work in their services.
WELFARE ACTIVATES:-
- The training programmes are conducted to the unit families in tailoring and fashion Designing works by the Setwin authorities 3 batches have under gone the above course .
- We have been organizing the SWACH BHARATHI Programme in this year 2017.
- In the year 2015-2016 Two thousand Saplings and fruits bearing plants were planted in this Battalion .
PRESENT TASK:-
Attending all types duties i.e., Elections, Cyclones, Red Sandel Task force duties VIPs security and L& O duties etc.
DETAILS OF UNIFORMS/ DECORATIONS :-
All the contingent personnel will wear neat uniforms and other accessories on the Final day Parade celebrations.
WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM:-
1. The R.O Plant is functioning in the Battalion w.e.f.30.04.2004 and daily 20Ltrs of purified water is being supplied to each families by door delivery.
With these developmental activities, 9th Bn.APSP, Police personnel are growing healthy, wealthy and happily.
