SPECIAL COLLECTOR OFFICE, TELUGU GANGA PROJECT

a) DEPARTMENT PROFILE :

 The Historic announcement of the Prime Minister of India at Chennai on 15.02.1976 for sharing Krishna waters for the purpose of supplying the drinking water to Chennai city had given birth to the Telugu Ganga Project by signing the memorable accord on 18.04.1983 by the Hon’ble Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu.
The office of the Telugu Ganga Project is looking after the Land Acquisition work in Co-ordination with Irrigation Department, Forest Department and Revenue Department. There are 2 units under the control of Special Collector, Telugu Ganga Project i.e., Rapur @ Nellore Unit and Atmakur Unit. Each unit looks after the Land Acquisition work pertaining to different packages like 9th Package, 10th Package, 12th Package, Non-Package, 40 Package, 39 Package, 32 Package, GKN Canal, Kavali Canal, 96 Package and Anam Sanjeeva Reddy Somasila High Level Lift Canal.

The total Land Acquisition as requisitioned by the Irrigation Department is Acs.12373.52 cents, out of which Acs.7727.39 cents has been acquired and the balance Acs.4646.13 cents is to be acquired under Telugu Ganga Project, Somasila Project and AnamSanjeeva Reddy High Level lift Canal.
