a) DEPARTMENT PROFILE :
There are 1309 Temple and other institutions are situated in 46 Mandals of 5 Revenue Divisions in S.P.S.R.Nellore District. Out of them insufficient income generated institutions which are not assessable by the department are 1087.
It is submitted that in the district there are 222 institutions are situated which are income generated at present. The management of the income generated institutions is being managed by the Executive Officers mostly and remaining institutions are under the administrative control of the Founder trustees and executive authorities of the temples.
The institutions are classified as per the section 6 of Endowments Act 30/1987 as A,B,C,D- grade institutions having supervisory control of the Commissioner, Endowments Department, A.P. Gollapudi, Deputy Commissioner, Endowments Department, Guntur and Assistant Commissioner, Endowments Department, Nellore respectively besides of Regional Joint commissioner of Multi Zone –II, Tirupathi.
It is submitted that the institutions are classified basing on the income of the institutions annually as detailed below:-
