NATIONAL HEALTH MISSION (NHM)

a) PROFILE :

District Project Management Unit (DPMU) is established on 8th June 2008, to monitoring the all NHM Physical and financial progress

Back Ground of NHM

  • Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) Program was launched on 10th October, 1997 towards Maternal and Child Health (MCH), Child Survival and Family Planning.
  • The program receives funding support from World Bank, DFID, European Commission, UNFPA, USAID and other bilateral donors.
  • National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) was launched in April 12, 2005 to address the health needs women, children and vulnerable sections of the society and to provide affordable, accessible and quality healthcare

Objectives

  • Reduction of Infant mortality rate, Maternity Mortality rate, and Total Fertility rate.
  • Access integrated comprehensive primary Health care.
  • Prevention and control of communicable diseases, including locally endemic diseases.
  • Achieve population stabilization, gender and demography balance.
  • Revitalize local health traditions and mainstreaming AYUSH
  • Promotion of Healthy Life styles

Goal

  • Facilitate increased access and utilization of quality health services by all.
  • Set up a platform for involving the Panchayat Raj institutions and community in the management of Primary Health care and infrastructure.
