History of the Temple (Sthala Purana):-

According to Sri Ramachandra Swamy’s dream, the family of Dodla built the temple. A temple with a history of more than two centuries in the center of Buchireddypalem mandal of Nellore district. Standing idols of Sri Ramachandra Swami Varla, who are the consorts of Sri Seethalakshmana, attract the eyeballs of the devotees. The spacious temple premises, stonework, tall galigopuram, ratham, koneru, hendava, reflect the traditions.

A.D. In 1715, a farmer named Dodla Anna Reddy migrated from a village called Ranavathuru near Tiruttani in Tamil Nadu and settled in Buchireddypalem village. Due to his energetic abilities, he became known as a big kapu within a short time and was appointed as the administrator of many villages by the then Nawab of Arcot.

His grandson Dodla Ramireddy became a devotee of Rama in the course of time. A great administrative skill, Sri Ramachandra Swami appeared in his dream one night and instructed him to build a temple for his permanent residence in Buchireddypalem village. According to the wishes of Sri Swami, with his own funds, Sh. In 1765 AD, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of the temple. It was completed by 1785. A few thousand acres of land was donated to Shri Swami Var for incense lamp offerings. From then till today, their families continue to be the trustees of the temple. Swami is worshiping Lord Sita Lakshmana all the time.

Sri Chaturbhuja Lakshmi Ammavar, Sri Lakshmi Nrisimhaswamy, Sri Andal Ammavara and Sri Prasannanjaneyya Swamy are enshrined inside the temple prakaram. Every year Brahmotsavams are held for 10 days from Sri Ramanavami to Sri Swamivar. On this occasion, devotees from all over the district and from other districts worship Sri Swami.
