Archaeological Museum Nellore
The District Archaeological Museum in Nellore, established in 2004, is managed by the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Andhra Pradesh. The museum showcases a diverse collection highlighting the lifestyles, tools, and practices of early human societies. Among its exhibits are dioramas depicting the daily life of prehistoric and protohistoric humans, along with agricultural tools and burial-related objects. The museum also features an array of coins, terracotta figurines, weaponry, and both bronze and porcelain artifacts. In the outdoor gallery, visitors can view sculptures and archaeological items from the Satavahana period (2nd Century BCE) and the post-Vijayanagara period (17th Century AD), displayed on pedestals for closer inspection.
