DISTRICT EMPLOYMENT EXCHANGE

a) DEPARTMENT PROFILE:

The Nellore District Employment Exchange established under the Department of Employment and Training, is responsible for implementing the CNV Act 1959. Its primary objectives include guiding unemployed youth to secure better employment or self-employment opportunities, as well as facilitating suitable job matches for employers. Additionally, the exchange provides vocational guidance to students to help them choose suitable courses.

The District Employment Exchange was approved as a Model Career Center in December 2020 in SPSR Nellore.

The Indian government has converted all employment exchanges into Model Career Centers as part of the National Career Service program. In 2015 the Hon’ble Prime minister of India launched India’s largest Employment platform National career service. As part of this initiative, an online portal ncs.gov.in has been introduce under the Ministry of Employment, Government of India.

  • In accordance with the National Career Service (NCS) guidelines, the District Employment Office hosts job fairs to help unemployed youth secure positions within private enterprises.
  • In accordance with the Employment Exchanges (Compulsory Vacancies) Act of 1959, all public and private establishments in the district are required to submit the ER-1 employment return every three months. This return must detail the employees working in the respective establishments.

Major programs of District Employment Exchange include: –

    • The unemployed youth can access services that include help with registering for job opportunities from 10th grade to a Bachelor’s degree or Bachelor of Education, as well as assistance with renewing and updating their records.
    • The recruitment process includes assisting employers and endorsing candidates.
    • Delivering career and education advice to those looking for job opportunities and academic advancement.
    • The programs that follow are being implemented free of charge, with the intention of supporting students and enhancing youth employment opportunities.

    • Programs designed to provide guidance and support for self-employed individuals.
    • Furnishing personalized counsel for conquering difficulties.
